La conferència AAPA Latino 2021 va tenir lloc del 29 de novembre a l'1 de desembre a Cartagena, Colòmbia. Aquest és un dels esdeveniments clau per al segment portuari a Llatinoamèrica, amb una assistència que torna a batre rècords.
UN ACTE CLAU AL SECTOR PORTUARI
Aquest 25è Congrés Portuari Llatinoamericà va tenir lloc a l'hotel Hilton de Cartagena i va ser un esdeveniment híbrid, tant presencial com online. Aquesta decisió es va prendre per garantir que la Covid-19 no obligués ningú a perdre's aquesta indústria anual per excel·lència, que va dominar l'agenda marítim-port 2022. Durant els tres dies van assistir les figures més representatives del segment portuari, fent presentacions i parlant dels projectes i reptes actuals i futurs del sector.
Also present were the most powerful companies from the port services sector, such as Prosertek, promoting their solutions at the fair stands. An exhibition space that once again represented a great opportunity for anyone wishing to successfully enter the Latin American market and grow a port business there.
L'intens programa de networking també ha tornat a fer d'aquesta fira el lloc on estar per tancar negocis portuaris a Llatinoamèrica. L'organització calcula que aquest any hi ha hagut més de 250 oportunitats de negoci.
REPTES DEL SECTOR PORTUARI A AMÈRICA LLATINA
The fair was thematically structured through the presentation of the study "Great challenges for ports in the post-pandemic period", prepared by Ricardo Sánchez, Senior Economic Affairs Officer, International Trade and Integration Division of ECLAC.
En aquest document es parlava dels ports com a indústries de valor afegit-cada cop més tecnològic, que exerceixen una influència en la cadena de subministrament i una contribució important al desenvolupament econòmic de les nacions.
According to Sánchez, ports must intensify their efforts "to change the way society perceives this industry" while also investing in their relationship with the urban environment, with companies, with the state and with workers as a way of coping with future challenges, which were grouped as follows:

Other conferences focused on the second and third days of the conference and addressed the recovery of the post-pandemic sector, investments and projects in Latin America, challenges for competitiveness in the region, the challenges of logistics in the Caribbean and radiography of the cruise industry, as well as many other matters that concern the port industry in general and the Latin American ports in particular.
També es va posar especial èmfasi en qüestions molt rellevants per al sector, com ara la transformació digital i la influència de la indústria portuària dins dels objectius de desenvolupament sostenible impulsats per les Nacions Unides -.
La trobada es va acabar amb una visita tècnica al Port de Cartagena (Colòmbia), per permetre als participants conèixer-de primera mà quina és la situació i les necessitats dels ports de la zona.
